ABOUT THE ALBUM
Exposure, Hagiga’s debut album, captures the original quintet shortly after the band was formed in Tel Aviv in 2001. The music moves between post-bop, funk, Middle Eastern colors and freer group interaction, reflecting early influences including Wayne Shorter, Dave Douglas and Ornette Coleman. With a front line of two saxophones and guitar, and trumpeter Avishai Cohen joining on three tracks, the album established many of the musical ideas that would continue to shape Hagiga’s sound.

“One of the finer groups that the Fresh Sound label has produced. Farber and his musicians have incredible empathy and their own voice.”
